Well, I thought SactoJohn would post our report, but since he didn't, here is my take on our outing....

We put in right at first light (beautiful sunrise, btw)@ the ramp off of Corriea Road. both of us started with buzzbaits and unless you include shortbiters, it was for the most part unproductive. After about a half hour of this, I switched to my candy bait (4" senko) and was rewarded pretty quickly with a few fish. I think John ended up getting a fish on the buzzbait....

At any rate, the fishing got really tough as the sun got higher. By 930, I think we had 10 fish between us, with 4 keepers (big fish went 2.9 lbs.).

Toward the end of our outing, we rolled up on an ideal stretch just begging for a frog. This was the first time I have ever thrown a frog, and I have to say, I see what the appeal is now. I tossed that thing for about an hour; had 4 really cool blow ups, and had one BIG fish just inhale it! It was on for a total of 2 seconds, but since I set the hook like a panzy, it came off as fast as it got on.

Highlights of this trip:

1. I was able to fish without my car being vandalized to the tune of thousands of dollars.

2. Discovering the wonders of frog fishing.

3. Sliding behind John and nailing a keeper. To add insult to injury, my next cast produced another fish (not capping on John though; he's a stroker!):P
