I met Dave M. and his cousin at Del Valle yesterday. Started fishing around 7:30 On the point straight across from the marina. I had one good bass whack at a swimbait. It hit and started swimming with the bait and I got to happy and pulled the bait from the fish on the hook set. It turned out to be my only real shot at a good fish all day. I threw swimbaits for most of the rest of the day, for nothing. I tossed a jig & pig, dropshot, and drug some plastics also. Got a couple of "maybe" bites drop shotting. I thought I hooked a toad on the jig, but it turned out to be a 4.5lb catfish foul hooked in the side right behind the dorsal fin.
Nice warm sunny day on the water, just not many fish showing themselves.
