#29621, "Okay - here's a Fish story for ya - ever happen to you?..."

Okay - so here's my story (and have the camera phone picture to prove it) -

So I'm out fishing Calero with my brother yesterday morning (him in his float tube and me in my kick boat). We are both fishing the same lure (Lucky Craft ghost color bevy shad) - only, he's catching them - and I'm not (more about that later). He's fishing about 300 yds away - when I hear all this comotion. I look over - and he's caught 2 fish on one lure (one on the front hook & one on the back)! He's yelling me to come over and help - because he does not have enough hands to get these things un-hooked! The small fish was about 2 1/2 pounds and the big one was a +5 pounder!

So by the time I row over there - help get these unhooked - these two fish had been out of the water for some time. Luckly, after about 5 minutes of running them around in the water they finaly revive and swim off (thought I was going to have to break out the heart paddles).

So now I'm really ticked. Not only does he have a 7 to 0 advantage - he's now catching them two at a time! So - I swallow my pride - and ask my younger brother "what the h*ll"? Turns out - he's modified his lure a bit. Made the gill dot's bigger and gave it a head wound (little gouge in the plastic colored with red paint). Hard to believe these little mod's make that much of a difference - so we switch lures. Sure enough - I start catching them like crazy! Big fish too - not a one under two pounds and biggest around 5.

All in all it was a great day on the water. Figure between my brother and I we caught nearly 20 fish - all good size. Told him he should send his camera phone picture into Lucky Craft - they could probably get some milage out of it. Needless to say I now have a Lucky Craft lure that looks like I drug it behind my truck! Anyway - seemed to work yesterday. Great thing about fishing - you just never know! Tight lines!;-)

Regards,
Mark
