Speaking of wildlife spottings, I think I saw, for the first time in my life, a *mountain lion* @ Calero on Sunday. It looked like maybe a young one, but somewhere between 40-60lbs. He walked down through the inlet right across the lake from the launch ramp, meandered up the hill to a grassy spot between some bushes, then layed down in the grass -- looked like he was enjoying the sunset, looking off to the west! I had him in sight for several minutes before he dropped into the grass, where I had a hard time spotting him afterward. I was pretty psyched, watching him meandering along.

Oh, and prior to that I saw a turtle -- with a shell probably 20 inches front to rear. That's just the *shell*, mind you! He was sunning at the edge of the bank as I came to the end of the creek channel, slid into the water when I drove near, then was back on the bank as I headed back out to the main lake. I've seen turtles at many of our south bay res'ies, but never one this big! This sucker looked almost ready to step up to saltwater-size!
