Swampy and I went out again yesterday and I blanked for the third time in a row. Not a single bite in three trips. Swampy didn't get anything either. And I am pretty sure I haven't managed to catch a delta limit all year. I've been fishing the delta since 1995 or 96 and while I have had my share of fishless days I have never seen it so consistently poor for me.

What is up with the delta? We covered a lot of water each of the times we went out and never saw bait or any sign of life. We've tried fishing shallow and deeper breaks and ledges. We've tried reaction baits, jigs, plastics, creature baits, every thing but dynamite!

Is the bite so tough because the water is clear? Most places we fished looked like there was at least 8-10 feet of visibility. Where did the bait and the bass go?
