Sounds like a great time, great learning experience, etc.

A couple of questions:

1) What's the word on when (or whether!) they'll be bringing the tour out west again?

and,

2) I'd sure be interested in learning more about the way they're setting up and targeting their drop-shot rigs at Clear Lake (and the Delta, for that matter!).

Obviously, you're not dealing with great depths in either location. Are they (or you) using, like, 15-18" leaders, or something shorter to keep it just off the bottom? And are they throwing right to the shoreline, or back off from it?

On the face of it, it doesn't seem that it would be the optimal approach for either of these bodies of water. I often wonder if it's just because of the recent popularity of the method, but then again, it wouldn't be so widely used if it wasn't an effective means of catching fish!
