#17551, "Kickboat Trailer"
Sun Dec-14-03 04:52 PM by woodsac

I've had a little time on my hands, and this is what I came up with. I bought a 4'X 8' trailer with 12" highway tires from harbor freight for $275. Everything for the trailer came with it except for the deck.

I sealed a piece of 3/8" plywood and mounted it to the trailer. Next I mounted 4 U-bolts to the deck for securing my boat. I lined the fenders with some heavy duty self adhesive felt to keep the pontoons away from any hot metal in the summer. Just to save room in the back of the Yukon, I mounted a battery box and the trolling motor as well. They can both be removed with no tools.

Registration for the trailer was only $30 or $35. So for about $335, that includes all the hardware, I think it's a pretty sound investment. No more struggling to load all my other gear in the back of my Yukon. Now it's quick and easy :-)
