It all started Thursday i dropped my wife off at the airport at around 12pm. Where is the first place you head when you drop your wife off to leave town? Coyote bait & tackle!!!! I went in and with he help of the staff (sorry i cant remember your names) walked out with my first flipping set up. I then drove to Chesbro, Calero, and Uvas...what a surprise they were all windy!x( O well, I guess I will go to pinto and use my new stick, nothing huge but I did stick 3 fish (which is really good for me at pinto) smallest was 1 lb biggest was 3 1/2 lbs. Then Saturday morning me and a friend went to the Delta I am still really confused here. I ended up with 13 fish and got my pb for this year 5.2 and a couple really chunky 2 1/2 to 3. What a great day Mark ended up with 3 all keepers. We put in at 5:30 a.m. and took out at 3 p.m. we got home and were exausted. The thought of going back Sunday was in my mind as i watched it go away behind me in my mirror I asked Mark what he thought and got the look of hell no from Mark. It is about a 2 hour drive for me from Watsonville but i dont mind. Anyways we finnaly decided we would get up at 4a.m. and go to coyote I had not been there in 2 years. We got on the water at about 5:30 a.m. and headed out both in our tubes. After about an hour of drop shot I had a pick up and missed,about 10 min. later I hooked up w/ a nice fish 4 bs or so I was happy as a clam with that alone!! We fished another hr with only 1 other bite. We then kicked over to h far side and started working a rocky bank i decided to fish a little deeper 30 ft or so. My second cast I got that drop shot bite feeling I reeled down and lifted up and felt it let go hmmmm that was the strangest bite I have ever had while drop shotting. I cast to the same spot again Mark kicks over and asks, any bites? I just missed one I think..then i felt it again this time I got her and the fight was on...she started up like a smaller fish then i felt a couple head shakes then it took off to the bottom again. I told Mark this fish is going to be bigger that the last I think.:9 After about 5 min or so up it came...the biggest damn fish have ever seen eyeballs were bigger than mine!! all the sudden Mark and i went silent as it took off again on a huge run after one more battle she came up again to the side of my tube and I lipped her as fast as i could.Holy ####!!!! I didnt have my scale but 10lbs no problem 24" and approx 23" girth. I havent laughed so hard in along time the scream was heard all over the lake. We took some pictures i made sure she was o.k. to swim off and let her go she turned and drenched me with one tail flip a wonderful goodbye. Finnaly in the 10lb club at least:7 sorry about the long entry just real excited!!!!!
