#45237, "MR Report"

First off I'd life to say congrats to the top finishers. Rob(Baby)Linden for 1st, Jeff Wilson, and Robert Middleton, good job guys on a pretty dang tough day at the river.
Jeff if you would so kindly not catch a big one at the next event and give someone else a chance at big fish that would be nice, good job on that tho man. That's 3 BF of the tourney and 4th payout of the year for BF. your on fire.

Here's my report. I had prefished the week before, and found what I wanted to do. The only problem was it didn't work well at all. I had planned to fish above the barrier for the first half day and then below for the second half. I fished spots that I have been hitting for a few years now and didn't get touched. I three the heck out of a frog and never get looked at. Finally I pick up a senko and get a 2lb fish. Cool I'm just getting started with this bait. 10-15 minutes later I got a 3.25. As I approach a particular stretch of water I'm getting excited after those 2 bites. I hit my stretch for nada. While I was on the stretch I wanted to hit my line was getting a little loose so I throw out towards a weed patch in the middle of the channel a to my surprise I picked up a 13" keeper. The bite went dead for me as the tide was dying down as well. I picked up one more 2lb fish on a flickshake before going down below the barrier. I got below the barrier around 10 where I thought I would get at least one bite but didn't as I fished both sides. I moved around fishing a few spots here and there then finally picked up another 13.5 " keeper to fill my limit. Now it's time to cull. I went down Victoria canal and picked up one fish that culled out a couple ounces for me. It's late in the day and it's hot so I want to punch the last hour and a half. I moved back towards the launch. I picked up two short fish punching some thick weeds. I saw jeff wilson and had asked if I could throw into a particular spot 20 yards past him and he had said sure. I flip deep into the tullies with punching rig and got smashed, set the hook and bring in a 4lb fish. No need to put a marker on it since this is my big fish of the day so I put it into the well, close my lid and then open it back up to reach for my smallest, missed the bobber so I reached in farther as I watch what I had thought at the time was the fish I just caught jump out of my well, damn. All I did was kind of laugh in disappointment, knowing that could of just cost me the win. Well on the end it was my 3.25 that jumped out and cost me the win I think. I ended up in 4th. Oh well they don't all go as planned.

See you all out on the water at our next tourney.

Taylor
