#45767, "Camping at Berryessa ??"

Is anyone planning to go to Berryessa on Friday and camp? If so, where are you camping? I have never been there and know nothing about the campgrounds there, other than I wanted to camp at Foothill Pines which would have been very convenient, but found on the Reclamation website that it is closed for now. I guess Pleasure Cove is open, but I was not too impressed with it when looking online. Seems rather expensive just for tent camping. And it is not nearly as convenient to Capell Cove as would be Pines Flat. I think I will call the Reclamation office at Berryessa tomorrow to find out more info. Was just wondering what other members are planning.

If I could get away with staying in my vehicle overnight at Capell Cove, I would go up on Friday and do that. Is there a gate there that they come and close at "closing" time. If so, they probably would run me off. The more I think about it, I guess they are not going to allow any overnight in the lot, or there would be problems if they started allowing that.

Speaking of camping, is anyone already making plans for Clear Lake? I want to get that done before it's too late. Are we staying in a group spot, or if not, what are the particulars? Is there a discount for the club? I know it's six weeks or seven weeks away, but this would be my first time there, and I don't know any of the details, other than I read something about not being able to cook out. That would suck, as from what I have read about past events, the cook out on Sat. night was a good time and good food. I can't imagine a group event without being able to cook out.
