#725, "Help me out here, Which boat is a better deal?"
|
Me and my dad have been searching for a bass boat for quite some time now. We are close to buying, but still have 2 choices.
We could get a 1991 Lowe Bassjohn boat 16 foot. It is aluminum, good carpet, and a 25 HP Evinrude motor. No fishfinders, no trolling motor. The trailer needs replacing. It is around 1700$.
OR
we could get a 1993 Stratos bass boat (fiberglass). It is 18 feet (but its the 19 foot model?) It has a new 70# thrust trolling motor with a trolling buddy. It has a working 150 Evinrude. It has decent carpet, and 2 working fish finders. It also has a good trailer. The only problem is that it needed to have a spot on the hull patched up, but it wasnt very big. He is selling for around 4000$
I really want the stratos, but my dad really is leaning toward the aluminum. It is because the aluminum one is my Granddad's, and they used it for crabbing/ rockfish on the Chesapeake (so it has been in brackish water). They need a bigger v-hull boat.
Another problem is I dont know if the Minivan (ford winstar) will be able to tow the Heavier fiberglass boat?
let me know hwat you think
