Hey guys. Just wondering what you guys look for in terms of jig rods. I know flipping sticks are a popular choice but do you really need that kind of length? I also know that you need a rod with alot of backbone for the hookset and for controlling the fish, but is it possible for a rod to be too meaty? Thanks for all replies. Tight lines.

Jake

I definetely think its possible for a rod to be too stiff or not sensitive enough. Personally I use a Redington 7 ft. Medium Heavy casting rod. (www.redington.com)

I think the problem is not the rod is too stiff just not sensitive enough sometimes personally I like a 7'mh for small 1/4oz jigs and a 7-7'6" H rod for bigger jigs.

Hey let that Bass go I wanna catch her some day

MBR844 GLX is the best jig rod I have fished. Perfect for 1/2 ounce jigs but handles the 3/8 and 3/4 ounce just fine.
