#2707, "Repair on a Japanese Daiwa reel"

I picked up a used Japanese Team Daiwa 2500IA spinning reel for a sweet price. I was dinking around with it when I broke something in the bail assembly. I opened the assembly and a little piece of cracked plastic dropped out. That's never a good sign. Now the bail does not snap shut when I start the retrieve.....

Enough of my sob story. Now for my question.

The replacement part can't be worth more than a few bucks, but I heard getting service, or parts for the Japanese Daiwa's can be a huge pain.

Anyone know of a place in or near the bay area that will service the Japanese Daiwas?

Thanks...

Greg C

there is a really good chance that the part is not JDM, if the reel has a "UDM" counterpart, you probably won't have any trouble getting the part replaced. The nearest Daiwa service facility is in Los Angeles, the turnaround time isn't bad and the service is excellent. good luck -Nate
