How many of you guys own the old chronarch sf, how do you like them and whats your uses on them

The old Chronarch 100A/100SF/100Mg reels are great. I like that they're slightly smaller than the old Curado 200 so they palm easier and they're also very smooth. You can improve casting distance by upgrading the spool shaft bearings with stainless or ceramic ABEC 7s. I love the CH100Mg because it's such a light reel (under 6 ounces for a full sized bass reel!)...

As good as the old "A" version Chronarchs were, the new "B" version (and Metanium XT for the Japanese market) is even better. Tolerances feel way tighter, they cast better and have improved gearing. I'd replace all of my old Chronarchs with the new version but they're still in great shape.

True to that brother! I to love and cherish my chronarchs, i own the 100mg to and the japanese version also which is the metanium mg pretty sweet reel.

i have 3 chronarch old schools its a perfect palm reel the only downfall is being able to throw whole spool of line in one cast.


any info on where i can purchase new bearings?

You can order a pair of ABEC 7 rated stainless bearing for $16 thru Heartland Tackle Service. They also sell the more expensive TG ceramics. A Chronarch uses 3x10x4 mm size for the spool shaft...
