I LOVE my Shimano reels, and would not trade my 8 Castaics,my 3 Curados ,and my 3 Cardiffs fer nuttin! BUT, Magmaster, I'm with Brian/"805", Ummmm who owns G. Loomis? Ummmmmm, why, it's..... TADAAAAA! SHIMANO!!!! (I've also heard from SEVERAL people that have owned G. Loomis rods for many years, that the quality of workmanship has markedly declined... and at that price they should be Flawless!! Try the B&R Rods, they are REALLY nice! and GREAT PRICES! -Just Google 'em .... Good Luck

Champ- Sorry you had to see all this being a new member. But welcome to Calfishing. This is not typical of this site so I must apologize for hijacking this thread a little. It seems that certain people can't leave this alone and make a recomendation for the rod you requested.
To the guys that are trying to bust my a** on this go ahead and send me a PM and I will certainly clear any misconceptions you have of me. It doesn't need to happen on this guys post for the world to see.

John,
Since you have field tested both the Lamiglas & Okuma cranking sticks, how do compare the Okuma EVX-CB-701M with one of the skeet reese cranking rods of the same size/make? Now I know you are sponsored by Okuma, but I just wanted your thought....I am already sold on the Okuma, due to the cost. I am also looking for a deep cranking stick.

Hi Bryan I have not used the Skeet Reese cranking stick. the ones I used were released before this model came out. I would be more then happy to let you try mine out at the Open. Just let me know so I bring it.
