What is a good way to rig my gear for flatties. What size line, how to rig weights hooks

best baits for halibut is live baits. rig it with a dropper loop or a sliding rig with 3-4 ounce sinker. hooks depends on the bait. if you're using a horse sardine, you should use a 2/0- 4/0 hooks. tiny pinheads, you should use #4-#2 hooks.

7- 8ft. rod is good especially to turn the fishes head. a good reel is a corsair 400. its a good 15-20lb. reel, perfect for flatties.

tip: try not to set a hard hook set cause halibut have a soft mouth.
