April 3 next Saturday night fishing at Castaic, Most likely they will plant 3000 lb of trout on friday around noon. Be there for the striper bite, fishing should be good on Sat. and Sun. I holpe they stay around for a week. They have not planted for 3 plus week its about time.

Next monday or tuesday sounds like a good day to go. weekend ramp traffic might keep the stripers at bay? monday sounds good anyway. :)

I've never fished at night there before: are you fishing for stripers, LMB, or what? Any special techniques or tricks you use? Are there a lot of boats out there?

Sat. morning would be good if they plant on Friday, Fish on the dam with anchove, night crawlers, or blood worm THey got some at the alliance gas station (the old arco station). No baots are allowed near the dam. They have been getting some nice Stripers at the dam all the way out. Jerry from Santa Paula caught 5 one day on sardines. this week, Jimmy 1, Montre 1, Gary 3, Carl 1, Yesterday. Night fishing for stripers mostly.

Do you think they will plant the trout at the west ramp or at the main ramp?

If they plant it most likely be the main ramp I just checked the So. Cal.fish plant and they dont show Castaic lake for the week of Mar 29.I was told by one of the girls at the gate that Castaic has received their 22,000 lb of fish this year. THey counted the weekly plant they did 2 months ago that was for Pyramid lake. I should get a call as soon as they plant if Im at home Ill post it.

No one called so I guess they did not plant, and if it rains call Castaic lake for they may cancel the night fishing 1-661-257-4050
