Tubed Lake Los Carneros in Goleta this morning. Started off with the buzzbait for one short strike. Switched to the weightless 5 inch Salt Shaker Worm and it went wide. Ended up with 17 bass and one bullhead. All fish caught on the Salt Shaker except one caught flipping a Bleeding Bluegill colored California Spyder Grub. Most fish were decent sized with one that was about 14 inches that had about a 10 inch bullhead in it's stomach with the tail sticking out of it's throat.

Brian and Bryan were also there. They each had their share of bass also. I think Brian got about half of his flipping and half on the weightless Salt Shaker. Bryan flipped and used crankbaits for his fish.

Yeah I started off flipping in the morning, and did alright. The first tullie point I pulled up to I stuck a fish off it. I caught 3 bass and a bullhead all on the Assalt Stirted Craw before I met up with Pete and found out about the wide open Salt Shaker Action. So I grabed some Salt Shakers from Pete and had 4 fish in 10 casts, 3 fish on consecutive casts. Then it was back to flipping for me where I proceeded to lose one of the best fish I have seen out at Carneros this year, flipped back in to a tullie pocket and left the bait in there for a minute or so and as I went to pull the bait out a fish grabbed it right near the surface, It looked to be a 2+ lb fish and I set and didn't connect! x( From then on I lost 3 or 4 more fish that I connected with for a second and then they would just come off. I did manage 3 more fish (2 flip fish and one Salt Shaker fish) and the best one today I poached off of Bryan who had just missed the fish and I flipped in and caught him, he was prolly around 15 or 14 inches. All in all it was a pretty awesome day and the Assalt Skirted Craws kick ass! I had never tried um before and they stuck all my fish today, I was totally impressed.

Went back to Los Carneros this evening with my son Pierce. Just fished from shore for a bit while he fed the ducks. Los Carneros is almost impossible to fish from shore but I was able to get one fish for Pierce on the weightless Salt Shaker. It was his first bass. Once I knew I was bit I handed him the rod and he did the rest (almost). His hookset needs a little work so after it was on there for a couple seconds I grabbed the rod and set it a little better. After that it was all him.
