What kind do you guys prefer? Are Kastmasters an effective spoon? And do you tie directly to the lure or use a snap ring, swivel or split ring?

Thanks for any input, I want to try this technique more this fall/winter.

Phishnuts,
I use DUH!!! Team spoons (out of business), now known as BladeRunner spoons. Personally, I think they're great and they come in a few different shapes and sizes.

Yea, the Duh! spoons were great. Haven't seen the BladeRunner branded ones anywhere yet--who's selling them?

The smaller Megabaits kick ass and the good old Kastmaster and Hopkins spoons work wonders for me too.

Thanks guy's for the responses, I picked up a Hopkin's spoon and I have quite a few Kastmaster's.

I found the DUH website and it seems to be up and going, they are no longer in buisness? Their spoons do look good, I like the crappie.

Duh! is no longer in business. The owner's latest venture is called Blade Runner Tackle and the old spoons are supposed to be available under the new brand.

I like using the hopkins spoons when I want a lot flash and when I'm looking for a bait not as bright I go with the Revenge spoons, they are great and come in some nice color finishes, my personal favorite is the purple metallic bait its great. They also make a nice tailspinner that I use as a spoon when I want more vibration.

IMHO you can't go wrong with a Kastmaster.

DUH Spoons is out of business, the guy who made their original molds purchased the molds back and has now incorporated them into his line, "blade runner tackle." Their the exact same spoons in the same colors, after all he built the original molds. If you want to pick some up in the Sacramento area contact Troy at Troy's outdoor sports over on West Capitol Ave. He's got the best blade runner selection I've ever seen AND Rick has also stocked him up with a bunch of the actual DUH spoons that were left over.
