Does anyone know if floattubers are allowed in the Lagoon--for the full 24 hours? Thx.

No, float tubes are only allowed from the time the lake opens tell it closes. Float tubes are given the same time frame as a boat.

Hey there,

Lake Castiac has it's own website. I don't remember the exact address but using Google.com as your search engine just put in so appropriate keywords. I believe Casiac Lake was in the address.

The site gives you all the info!

Cruised down to Castaic Lagoon afer my evening class.. Got there at about 9:30PM and fished about 4 hours for zilcho.. Big Black Jigs, Slammer, Castaic Trouts, even dropshot.. nada. It was fairly windy--off and on through out the night--and warm, felt like the Santa Anas.. Actually, it was a pretty nice night.. there were only a couple others fishing.. most of them soaking bait off the pier... all nada too.

Despite the slow fishing, I had a chance at a really solid "feeling" fish.. I was working a medium size crankbait off a small rock pile wind-wind stop.. wind stop.. wind stop.. then smack! With less than a split second to react--my rod tip is suddenly tugged under water and about 10 feet of line is instantly peeled out of the drag.. I feel a dreaded pop.. and the fish is gone.. all within a matter of seconds... da highlight of the night.

Whatever it was.. it did a pretty damn good imitation of a seal swooping on a chovy rig at full bore that never cared to looked back..

Oh well.. Guess it was never mean't to be.. =/
