They eat them because of the ungula ting power, well that is at least what Cooch told me.

ungula ting huh... never heard of it :) I added it to the poll options along with an option for 'that funny wiggle'. This is important, please cast your vote :9

They eat it just because, they eat it good, and as fishermen thats all we need to know.

But, I am convinced its the combination of weight and wiggle that does the fish in. The weighting is perfect. Ive tried many of the knockoffs, and the reason they arent near as effective is because the weighting is all wrong (assuming we are talking just fishing t-rig weightless; sure, they all work using other presentations).

IMO, other than the birth of swimbaits, the senko is the most innovative and effective bait that has been created during my life time. Which reminds me, I havent thrown them in 2 years and I need to get them back into my routine/arsenal.:P (just as soon as I get off this dang darthead kick Ive been on lately).

I think it can be any one of the reasons listed depending on how you fish the bait. Using shad patterned Senkos like a fluke absolutely kills sometimes. If you're crawling it along the bottom in more of an earth tone type color, bass could definitely see it as a crawdad. Alot of the time bass are just dumb and eat it because it's an easy meal. That really subtle wiggle produces alot of fish too. Any of those reasons and more is my vote.

My vote is for "that funny little wiggle"....

Now if you were at Shasta this past weekend like I was you would think those spots that were eating up the Senkos thought it was some kind of bait fish in there.....Either way that senko made someone a bit of money ;) No it wasn't me..x(

#208 is the shiznit. Why? I dunno. Crawdad? sure. But the fact is, they eat it an HOLD ON. Salt impregnation is the key...at least I think so. The bass want to eat it, because they think it's food. Not out of reaction, but out of hunger. Weightless 95% of the time, to contrast others experiences. The wiggle, the shape, and the taste = yum yum time.

I once caught a 4lb bass on a wanka nerds rope...if anyone knows what that is...

http://i14.ebayimg.com/01/i/03/47/3f/22_2.JPG

I vote for dumb.

I give bass a lot of respect, but honestly...I think they just eat. If we could just have a camera that watches what they do all day everyday, I think we'd be surprised.

When I used to work at lake chabot, I'de see bass just slam a feather that had been sitting on the surface all morning not moving?

In the lab that I work in, I see bass and bluegill doing the stupidest things all day. i.e eating something they dont like...spitting it out...eating it again....spitting it out all day.
