To stuffed with apple smoked turkey to get up and go to Casitas..So I went to Cachuma. Went down towards the island and started throwing cranks. I scratched a few dinks and then I got my best fish of the day 5...6 she was big and powerful....Played around with jigs for a few fish and switched over to dropshot to kind of calibrate myself and gear for the Casitas WON tournament. I caught some small ones that helped to narrow down my choice's for tommorow...Decided that the grebes were far enough out from the bank that the shad must be out there too! ..Went out into 35 feet found some marks on brush and a drop off and caught 6 smallmouth so fast I couldn't believe it...All on the 3/4 oz. Hopkins shorty.I'm off to Casitas hope it doesn't rain! I did see alot of redear being caught so that bite is still on. Bigtime by the looks of it. Later KELLY

Hey Kelly,

Hope to see you at the Casitas tourney this Saturday. It will be a very tough tourney, the fish just don't want to cooperate right now. I have been up there a couple of times this past week and have only been able to scratch up a fish or two a day. I am metering fish but they just don't want to hit. But that is very typical of Casitas this time of year.
