#4046, "Adopt a Creek Planting Schedule"

By chance, does anyone have the Adopt-A-Creek Planting Schedule for the Bishop/Mammoth Lakes area? Better yet, an address or phone # to call so that I can send in my membership donation?

Thanks, Jordonna

Thank you Jason! Now are these Alper stock plants or DFG? Also, do you have any info or where to find it on when they will be planting Convict?

Thanks again,
Jordonna

Any of the stocks in the Mammoth Lakes area are Alpers, while the others are by the Adopt A creek. The DFG won't give out the days that they stock, but only by weekly stockings but those change week to week. Sorry I don't have any info on Convict stockings, you may be able to get those at www.convictlake.com

Here I just got this off there website I hope this helps

The lake is full of beautiful rainbow trout and some brown trout as well. The lake is
stocked for fishing weekly during the season by Fish Springs Hatchery. Between 800
and 1000 pounds of rainbow trout, averaging ¾ lb., are deposited in the middle of the
south shore by the California Department of Fish & Game (CDFG).

The CDFG and Hot Creek Hatchery also stock the stream for fishing weekly.
Between 400 to 500 pounds of "catchable" trout are spread out from the bridge down
thru the campground in 8 to 12 places. Each month CDFG puts in brooder stock
averaging 3 to 4 pounds of beautiful trout.

Mono County buys famous Alpers Rainbow Trout 6 times each season. These are
beautiful 4 to 7 lb monster trout, raised here in Mono County by Tim Alpers. The
prize fish are delicious to eat and fun to catch. The Resort also buys Alpers Trout at
the start of the season and for its spring and Fall Contest for your fishing enjoyment.

Convict Lake is considered a premier trout fishing lake. Because of its crystal-clear
water sometimes fishing can be difficult, but you will not find a more beautiful spot to
try. Come fish.
