#5261, "Castaic Lower Lake Float Tube 8/9"


  

          

We hit the Castaic lower lake for a little float tubing on today. We lanched the tubes at about 6:20am and headed over to the docks at Paradise Cove. This is the same place we saw big fish when we were on foot about 3 months ago. I had tied on a DC Jig 3/8 oz. It's a small jog with a samll hook and a small skirt. On that I had a Purple Crawfish colored DC craw trailer. So I cat this over by the dock and it falls to the bottom. I lifted it and reeled a little and back to the bottom. On the second lift it got thumped hard, I set and the fight was on. A little towing by the fish and she was up. She was a big girl (8.5# on my scale). My new personal best...Not double digits but still a nice fish.


Later I farmed out a bite on a 7" Aaron's Magic and I saw a few big fish chasing shad. Shad are about an inch to an inch and a half.

I got a few pics of the big fish, but I have to get them developed...
