Saw in the OC Register online today that a raw sewage spill occurred. Yuk.

"About 2,000 feet of shoreline near Aliso Creek in Laguna Beach was closed to swimming Tuesday after a sewage spill. The spill, caused by a faulty pumping station owned by the South Coast Water District, released an estimated 1,000 gallons of sewage. District workers prevented 560 gallons from reaching the ocean, but the rest contaminated near-shore water. The swimming closure, stretching 1,000 feet to the north and 1,000 feet to the south of the mouth of Aliso Creek, will likely remain in place for a few days until bacteria levels drop to normal, county health officials said."

What gets me is that it wasn't even raining hard or raining at all--that's when it usually happens. Someone turn the wrong dial or something? Sheesh.
