The Chart House is an ecxellent areato surf fish. I have not been there in a while, but every week my buddies tell me they get 3 or 4 bass and some short halibut. Occasionally they get a legal halibut or short white sea bass. The bait we always use is squid and swimbaits. 5 inch fish traps and big hammers are our number one choice in the chovy color. If you bring a 30 pound test rig you can toss it out far and put the clicker on, you might get a ray or a leopard shark, ive gotten some in the past. please report what you catch.

fished a mile or two below paradise cove with a slow bite. Caught a nice 14-15 inch calico on a chovy swimbait and missed another. Where exactly is this spot you are talking about? Im very interested in trying it out.
