#106, "Jamon fishing????"

Yeah I know, its been a while but I did finally manage to gather the energy and time to head out to the great blue fishing hole. Being boatless, floattubeless, partnerless, and clueless I decided to check out the harbor fishing scene.
Figuring correctly that I wouldnt be smacking around any monster lunkers I grabbed my trusty 7' light action trout rod and 6lb test spinning reel. I decided to start the action off in some shallow water weeds off the harbor rocks. Well, that worked for about 2 minutes before an ass of a lifeguard of all people started yelling at me to get on the other side of the fence (good thing he was there, I could have gotten my shoe wet in the knee deep water). So I moved my ghetto ass to the boat docks for some piling fishing. I tied on a wham fishie and began dropping the pilings and making some casts. Not much happened from then on. Landed 7 short sand bass in an hour before it got dark. Fun on the trout gear though.
Being "pumped" on the previous days non-stop action I decided to bring my luck down to the shore and fish some rock croppings. Well, to make a long story short, lots of fishing, not much catching. I got one bite and landed a 11" calico bass on a squid strip. Didnt have much luck but hey, better than getting skunked and better than a day at the office.
Alright, this is Jamon signing out until the next fishing adventure.

Holy mackerel, it's Jamon and he actually went fishing. Twice in one week at that! Feed free to get your tube down to San Pedro and go over to Laguna Beach and get some boiler rock calico. Any time now. Really. 6" sandbass are only so much entertainment, at least you were using the trout gear.
