#117, "San Diego Bay Report"

Fished San Diego Bay off of Shelter Island from kayak. Sand bass bite is pretty much wide open hitting 3" plastics. In 2-3 hours landed around 12-15 sandies. Used Cardiff Plastics blue flash chovie and cotton candy squid. And most importantly those jigheads with Gamakatsu hooks. Only one fish came unbuttoned.<P>Rob, site looks killer!

15 fish in 2-3 hours in anything but wide open....in sd bay thats a slow pick! Try fishing over near the navy mammal training area by kona kai yacht club. or go to south bay and catch a bonefish....yes you read right a bonefish by th powerplant. if you want a challenge...try float-tubing in the flood control channel......good bass fishing along w/ an occasional legal 'but. good luck!!!!!
