My cousin and I tubed yesterday and today. Launched out of CDM. Fished around the bait barge.

7/19
Cousin: 1 herring, 1 spotty (~2.5 lb), and 1 short hali
Me: 2 juvy WSB, 1 herring, 1 spotty, 1 bonito, and 1 short hali

7/20
Cousin: 4 spotty (~3lb), 1 juvy WSB, and 1 calico
Me: 3 juvy WSB, 3 calico (2 legal), 3 herring, 2 spotty, and 1 hali (keeper at 23.5 inch).

All fish CPR except for the hali. All fish caught on Big Hammers except for one of the WSB caught on live smelt.

I noticed you catch lots of Juvy WSB, do you mean a croaker? They are in the same family but i dont think its an actual WSB.

These are juvenile WSB. Got the stripes on the side and teeth.

Yep, Newport bay is full of small WSB. I have even caught a few that were like 22-24". I wonder where they go when they get bigger?
