#140, "Calfishing.com charter signup"

Ok, anyone who is seriously interested in a late August Calfishing charter signup here. The trip will leave August 25 th ( a Friday to accomadate everyones schedule ). The boat will be the Indian out of H&M landing in San Diego.
The Indian is a 65' boat, it's features include: bunk/state room berthing, full gally with a soda fountain and they serve french fries with their burgers!,great crew, cruising speed of 14 knots powered by 3 new engines, exc.
Yhe price will be slightly over 100 dollars and it includes bait, bunk, and mexican fishing permit. Food and fish cleaning will be extra. A crew tip is always appreciated!
Tackle needed is a 20-25lb bait rod for picky bites and using anchovies for albacore, and a 30-40lb rod for sardines and the yo-yo iron. A heavy 50-80 pound rod is always fun for wide open bites when the fish are eatinging everything-but its not neccessary. Trolling tackle is provided.
The date August 25th is a prime date to fish Diego. The sheer variety of fish species makes August a great time. Species being fished for will obviously depend on whats biting and that could be: albacore, yellowfin, bluefin and bigeye tuna, yellows and dorado under the paddies between jig stops, and the possibility of baiting a marlin or mako shark.
So if you want to go sigh up go for it. I know its early but you have to reserve your date early, especially a weekend. If you have any ?'s e-mail me @ haywardmail@earthlink.net. The price will be effected by how many guys sign up. Maximum people excluding me and Rod is 24. Let's go do some real fishing!!!!!

want to get in on a wide open tuna bite. However (and perhaps the reason why everyone hasn't signed up) August is some time from now and it's too soon to follow developing "trends". I don't want weasel out at the last minute. Do you just need a tentative head count... or firm "cash on the barrel head" commitment?

brandon- i totally hear you. everybody else- sign up now. if you don't have the gear or whatever, you can rent. trust me, yellowfin tuna are a lot more fun than perch on trout rods. i say if nobody on this site is gonna sign up then we start recruiting people from somewhere else. i've got two guys that need to talk about it, so they might be good for it. there's a couple other people i could talk to. let's get this thing going you guys- you can only have so much fun with perch and corbina.

Well, its nice to see a little interest. Now to answer a few questions.
1) Its an overnight trip leaving at 10pm and returning the next night from 7-10 o'clock
2) I want a tenative count right now. I dont plan on having anyone send money in until we get 20 guys.
3) Its a charter, A SAN DIEGO CHARTER you have to book 6 months in advance to get a date, let alone a weekend trip. San Diego isnt like Ventura where you can book a charter a month or less before.
The "developing trends" thing is BS its San Diego, and this is the prime time. You want to wait until the fish are biting for sure than get on an open party boat with 40 drunk guys you dont know.I have confidence in this date, Ive worked in San Diego 3 seasons and have seen tuna bites in August that will make you yawn next time you fish perch or any of that crap!!
4) YOU'LL NEVER KNOW WHAT YOU'VE BEEN MISSING UNTIL YOU GO TO SAN DIEGO!!!!!
