#6453, "5 lb. corbina"

Fished from 12:00-5:30 went up to Seaward to get some bait no soft shell but Im glad I did there was no bait at 5th st or at Hollywood beach I started fishing for corbina about 1:30 at Hollywood beach but did not get a bite till 3:00 what an exicting 20 min. of fighting this baby put up it is the first time I ever seen a corbina go out over the sand bar about 50 yds straight out I taught I had a shark on my line I had to walk into the surf just so I had enough line on my spool, for I had just put on some 6 lb.test P line but only about 75 yds on top of my 4 lb.test and put a paper tape on the knot so it would not hook my line as I cast, looking at my spool I walked out on to the sand bar and retrived some of my line as the corbina surfed the wave with my 1/4 oz. weight and my line out of the water and him surfing the wave what a sight. I finely got her back over the sand bar by this time about 5 min. had gone by and I felt like I had her back where I could tire her out but she was a fighter I had almost got on the beach after 10 min. of runing up and down the shore and with the out surg she went out over the sand bar again and back into the water I went chasing her out there It must have been all that oxygen in the water as it rolled over the sand bar that gave her that fight.
It took about another 5 min to get her back and beach her. she weighed in at just over 5 lbs. It made my day only two corbina wer caught two got away.
