Just got back from an albacore 1 day trip out of Point Loma on the Holiday. I got five myself (1 trolling) and lost four. Total for the boat was about 100 w/ 35 anglers.. Caught most of my fish off the slide. Had lotsa fun using my bass stick & calcutta w/ 12# test (I think I'm gonna have to replace the drag in the poor thing!)

The crew was good.. although I've seen better. The New Lo-Ann reported 175 albies (same day) w/ 35 anglers.. so we got our asses kicked.. The trip cost was $175. If anyone plans on going anytime soon the most you'll need to bring is 25# test. Most of the fish decked were in the 15-25 pound range. I fished mainly 12 - 20# test w/ 1/8th oz. sliding egg sinker and size 2 live bait hook. You could pretty much horse 'em in using 20# test. I had lotsa fun and plan on doing it again sometime soon!

PS: One more thing.. parking was a pain in the ass -- so get there early -- or park by the hotels.
