Went out yesterday morning without any real hopes for a big day and wasn't disappointed. Well... actually I was.
Surf was high and rough. Surprizingly not much garbage in the water kelp or otherwise. Grubbed for 3 hours. Lots of short bites and a total of 1 Bardie around 7".
I looked at him before I released him and thought to myself,no self respecting perch would be caught dead in this washing machine crap and then thought, hey, what self respecting surf dude would be seen fishing in that crap! :7
Nice to think that I'm on an equal intellectual basis with a surf perch! x(.
Heres to hoping that things settle down by next weekend. Hope to have my new 9'0" Fenstick steelhead rod by then.

The surf has been big the last few days, but looks to be dropping now. Conditions should be better the next few days for surffishing with smaller surf. Those perch usually save the day from the skunk!

I'm always grateful to avoid the guy with the white stripe down the middle of his back. :7 My Brother and I are going to try some surf action down in the La Jolla Wind@Sea and Black's Beach Area.
The Flattie action is supposed to be pretty good down that way with swimbaits and live smelt. Hope so.
