#4693, "Swimbait Reel"

Has anyone given any thought to using or has used the new Quantum Cabo PT Baitcast reel for throwing big baits? The wide spool version holds 200 yds of 20 lb line and the mfg claims on the drag sound good. This reel interests me, but none of the shops I've checked with in my area carries them. I hate to buy one without seeing it first.

The other reels I'm considering are the Cardiff & Calcutta. I like the Calcutta, but it doesn't seem to be available in a 301 or 401 size. The Calcutta TE 401 is sure nice but pricey, even on e-bay.

Does anyone use the Calcutta 401 TE? Do you think its worth it? Can you tell the difference between it and the normal Calcutta's?

I use the calcutta te 401 and 201 for swimbaits I think they are awesome reels and worth the cash. It is a shame that they don't make the 301 but if your fishing braid or 15lb. the 201 is perfect. The Cardiff is a awesome reel for it's price but if you have the $$$ I suggest buying a calcutta. FISH ON and FISH OFTEN

The Induron is another reel I was interested in, but can't find them in the 4 shops I've been to. There are still several other shops I can call that aren't too far out of town, but I don'tknow if I'll have the time go visit them this weekend and I'm starting to get antsy not having a reel to throw swimbaits on. Thanks for your reply...

when you buy a swimbait reel take into consideration the abuse you are going to put on the reel and we all know that Shimano has the best customer service. FISH ON and FISH OFTEN
