I was wondering if i could get some info , I live by a small lake about the size of castaic lagoon and 90% of the fisherman that fish there fish for trout they stock the lake every 2 weeks with trout but they have a few stripers and a good amount of largemouth the deepest part of the lake is 27 feet and ther is no structure at all only on the shoreline there is toolies alot of docks and a couple points the rest of the lake is flat bottom , now i know ther are big bass in there i have seen them but since ther is so many trout in the lake im thinking it would be very hard to catch a bass on a trout plug because they are probaly always full ther is never a time when you cant catch trout im talking like your limit withen a hour its just it seems like because the amout of trout in the lake that the bass are watching them every second swim by has anyone fished a lake like this and had good luck on the trout plugs ? is it worth the time to use the trout plugs in a over crowded trout lake ?

Thanks , James

Dude, this is a no brainer. Of course you should be throwing trout lures. The more trout there are, the more keyed in the fish will get on them. With so many trout, yeah the bite could probably be pretty tough, but when the fish do feed, what will they feed on? Trout! So using a trout lure is a great idea. It sounds like the kind of place where you might go several days without a big bite. But I would bet that if you kept after it and kept throwing, you would stumble on a good day and probably pop a couple good fish.

Well now that you've mentioned my secret little Bass lake to the
world (Just kidding) I'll let you know I've done pretty well the last two years fishing the Big wood there. I live close by and fish it about 4 days a week. And Yes.... I have stuck stripers there over 40 pounds but let's leave it at that. Most of my largies over 4 pounds
have been caught on spinner baits and the majority of fish come on Robo worms.Right now the bigger bass are hitting a small jig with a big pork trailer. I don't know if you wanted to know all of this but hope it helps.Next time your there if you see a guy with an orange
g-loomis hat it's me. Stop and say what's up.
