Over the years one of my staple big fish lures has been the brush hog. Day in and day out, this lure produces giant fish. I'm a huge fan of the senko, too, but it hasn't produced nearly as well for me as a brush hog. Furthermore, it can be combined with other lures in countless ways to create new big fish offerings. Here are a few riggings that have produced double digit fish for me:
* Jig trailer (just ask Rob) * Buzzbait trailer (I love this) * Spinnerbait trailer (esp black/red combo)
There's something about this bait that spells crawdad to a bass. Any time you think the big ones are on craws, buy a pack of full sized brush hogs and go to work.
Here is a pic of a chatterbait right after it caught my largest brush hog bass. This little bait is a great daytime chatterbait that produced the fish, a 14.75 lber, right at sunset.

Yup. Love the Brush Hog! It catches fish shallow or deep, big fish and small. Rob turned me on to using them as a trailer. Amazing trailers! Nobody uses them like that. Something about a full size Brush Hog on the back of a jig just screams craw. Especially when you slice a little off the paddles to make them look like claws ;-)
