#1731, "Megabass Charlie trout question."

A friend of mine picked up a couple of these for me in the 5" and 6" sizes. Since I have never really thrown the swimmmers and plugs(although I do own a second generation wood castaic trout plug), I was wondering if anyone had used this particular plug . I call it a plug because its like a castaic soft trout, with a solid head/lip and a soft body. The body has groves cut vertical on each side so it moves very easily, probably like the Greg's flex bait in an earlier post. What is different is the hook placement, which is more to the center of the bait on the belly(I replaced the treble with a gamakatsu, 1/0 for the 5" and 2/0 for the 6"). Also the lip looks to be one piece with the head, and the head actually is molded inside the plastic body. The color was an ok trout scheme, needs a little more white and silver on the side and bottom. Compared to the pictures of some of the other lures you guys have posted on the forum, this looks really good. Just wondering if anyone has used them yet. Rob, I'm surprised you haven't reported on this one as I figured you would be the first to have them. They are made in china, my friend got them at Waltons. $8.50 to $9.00. I plan to test it out tommorrow at rancho seco, have not been there in a couple of years, but this is the first serious storm this fall so the bite may be on.
