Interesting article. If it really is the WRB then they deserve to gain recogniton. But, I find it hard to believe that they would only take one picture and not have it certified by a ranger or DFG employee. If I was fortunate enough to land a bass that would possibly be the WR I would use up a whole roll of film and wait for someone with authority to verify it before letting it go. :-)

The thing that has bothered me the most about this the whole time is not the 'what if's'. It's the fact they have rules in place for this exact reason, and they were not followed!!!

If they do make this the world record, then anyone who caught a bass and weighed it on a certified scale, photographed it, and released it, could take that record away, soley on their word! That's not good enough for me. Not that I don't trust what they say, but not all anglers are honest!!!

There was an article about it on the very top of the front page of the Press Democrat, Sonoma County's biggest newspaper.

That little lake is gonna get pounded this year. :-(
