For largemouth bass, does it help hook ratio to add a treble hook to the bottom side of a Castaic Trout Sinkin Swimbait?

I expect to keep it outside the weeds. However, might be fun to run it thru the weeds as well.\

thanks

i think everyone will agree with me that the added trebel hook on the bottom would increase the hook up % by a lot. Just make sure that you have a good ring and a good hook. I'm sure others will tell you what trebel hooks they use. I dont nornally use the trebel hook because way out here in Maryland the resovoirs and ponds are full of weeds to get stuck in the trebel.
good luck

I agree it should improve your hook-up and landing %, but personally both fish I've caught had the entire bait in it's mouth and the top hook was all that was really needed, they weren't getting away. But that won't always be the case.

The few times I would remove the bottom treble hook would be fishing through heavy cover and fishing from shore, especially around rocky areas. The lure sinks fast and you are just bound to hang it up.
