#4977, "Big Bait Drop-shot Answer-maybe"

I'll post pics tommorrow, but I had to tell you guys. Yesterday I went to Capitola for the rockfish/lingcod opener and thinking about the Drop-shotting for Trophies post, I started looking through some of my Saltwater/bigger baits type stuff. I found 2 forgotten Lunker City Fin-S fish in the 7" size. I tried drop shotting one of them with a 1 oz weight and a 4/0 EWG for the Lingcod and got a 29"er and a 27"er on one of them. The other I didn't use because I wanted to keep it for bass. Neither look to good as they got water-logged along with most of my other big plastics before the trip. BTW I caught 14 Lingcod without a single one making the 30" legal limit. I also caught 3 legal (12"+) size rockfish and 4 shorts, mostly on 5" Fish Traps with 1oz jigheads. I didn't get any Halibut, but 4 between 12 and 28# were weighed in at the peir.
Tight lines,
Wade
PS Does the Fin-S come in a bigger size like 9 or 10"?

Thanks for the link. Unfortunately the fish pictures didn't turn out and I can't find the Fin-S lure I set aside to take a picture of it rigged.
Tight lines,
Wade

Wade..

Were you in your kickboat? sounds like you guys had a blast. I watched a guy pull a nice legal Hali from Port San Luis Drop shotting a big grub. The method is worth trying in the ocean...

Ya, I launch my Kickboat off the mooring dock at the end of the Capitola peir. They don't charge me anything for launching, but I always buy something, even if it's just a jighead or a couple FishTrap tails.
Tight lines,
Wade
