#5169, "double digit video"

Want to see me almost fall over in the boat, reel against the drag, say stupid things on camera, and wind up catching an 11.45lb hog on 8lb test with a 6' spinning rod? Well here you go, it's almost as good as watching the good old boys on TV

It was some stuff from Japan called Nitlon DFC. Good line though I have no clue if you can get it in the US. I made my order for next year's light line sight fishing already in Triple Fish floro from 8 to 12lb test.

Thanks for the info.

I've seen the Nitlon offered in the past, but not recently. I just ordered some Sunline Sniper fluoro. I tried to order the Triple Fish, but nobody had 10 lb. :-( I've ordered direct from TF, but they charge $8 for shipping ($5 shipping $3 handeling) x(

I've been using P-Line fluoro and it's super strong, but it's got more memory then any other line I've used. I just can't take the coiling anymore. Oh, I got the Sunline on E-Bay. It's cheaper there even with shipping then buying from BWW, by about $10.

Yeah man it sure would have been cool to have someone shooting the video to get the fish jumping... she got out of the water twice and the first jump was a good 2' up into the air. I need to buy a wide angle lens and a wireless microphone :) It feels pretty retarded talking the camera when you are out there by yourself. The looks you get from other fisherman when they see the camera on the tripod are pretty classic too.

Nice fish man.

FYI: you've got Trojan Horse downloader viruses on the WM high res. and the WM low res. Both of the Quicktimes are alright though.

I hope you can get rid of them without too many people getting the virus.

Thanks. Steve.

Steve,

I checked my machine but didn't find anything. I'm running Symantec AntiVirus 8.x Corporate. Antivirus definition files update automatically and right now are at 10/6/04. I do get dozens of viruses sent to me via email every week, so anything is possible, but I can't find anyting on there right now. Can you give me the full exact name of the trojan horse that your machine is reporting? That way we can check against Symantec's site @
http://securityresponse.symantec.com/avcenter/vinfodb.html
and find out what's up.

-Rob

Rob your nutts,
I lost two big fish this year because I tried light line on a spinning pole. Both times they took me into the trees.
Why were you using light gear? Were they spooky or were you just having fun? BTW that was pretty neat footage. I think I am going to order those clamps I am always tying to branches.
Matt

The secret to keeping them out of the trees is to dance around like a monkey in the boat :9

I'd much rather use heavy tackle to get a big fish, but fish aren't getting any easier to catch these days. That fish was real shy and was in shallow water, so finesse just seemed the right thing to do. It could have broken me off easily if it swam the wrong direction. Next year if someone hooks that fish on light tackle, it probably will swim into cover and break off.

In touranments, people talk about junk fishing... well this year has been my junk fishing year. I'm fishing a bunch of different lakes and using different stuff than I ever have before. So far it has worked out pretty good, but who knows what next year or even next month will bring :)

Rob,

There is 2 viruses on each of the WM videos (low res & high res).

The pop-ups from the anti-virus program I have says:

"Trojan horse Downloader.Istbar.4.D

is found in file
C:\WINNT\istinstall_si.exe"

--and--

"Trojan horse Downloader.Istbar.4.D

is found in file
C:\WINNT\ISTINS~1.EXE"

The program I have is <AVG Anti-Virus System>

Let me know if you need any more info.

Thanks. Steve.

The files C:\WINNT\istinstall_si.exe etc, are on your local machine. Maybe try opening other windows media player files on other sites and see if you get the same message. That will help isolate the problem. Viruses can be confusing and misleading how they manifest themselves.

Yeah I've gone to Ebaumsworld.com which is a funny/extreme video site and a lot of the videos I try to view say that they have the trojan virus and it doesnt let me play them. I don't know much about computers yet but thanks for the help.

There's a discussion on this site about this hijacker thing that you are describing:

http://www.bullguard.com/forum/5/HELP-This-is-driving-me-crazy-_915.html

Seems like people had the best luck getting rid of it using Pest Patrol. Hope that helps some. Searching on google is your best bet for figuring out how to get rid of this stuff. It doesn't show up on Symantec's site, but it may have a different name, or it doesn't show up because it's not technically a virus. Don't feel bad about it, every one I know with PC's is constantly getting infected with stuff it seems like.
