Hi Trey!

You might like to check out www.bigbass.0catch.com/id3.htm for pics of the big baits.

Sounds like you've been sucking up every bit of info you can GET from Rob, Nico & 'Fish-Chris's sites, among others. Great pics, nice layout -- and BURSTING with good info, to boot! All that homework is BOUND to pay off for you!

Keep us posted on your SA successes!

p.s. Have you ever been in contact with John Jorgensen of 'Dabbie Products'? He's down there in South Africa, too. I bought my live well setup from him (a mesh 'cage' that hangs between the pontoons on my kickboat). One of the guys in our 'Bass-n-Tubes' club has one of his kickboat models. Nice guy! He & I have e-mailed back & forth a number of times, although it's been awhile now.

p.p.s. I wasn't paying much attention to the other countries' successes in the recent Olympics. Any idea how SA did?

Hi "J".

Glad you liked the site. I hope it will inspire SA Bassers to try the "big baits" and stouter tackle as I am certain there are much bigger Bass in Southern African waters than those which have been caught to date. In a tournament between SA and Zimbabwe at Lake Mteri about a year ago, guys had their lines snapped and rods were even broken!

The only problem for me is that I currently live very far from any locations which have the Florida strain Bass, but I stocked some Florida strain fingerlings in local waters last year near the town where I live, so we are hoping the local Bassing scene will improve in 4 - 6 years!

I have heard of Dabbie Products (the SA Kickboat manufacturer) and will contact John Jorgensen - thanks for the info! Perhaps he would like a link on the site.

I must admit I have not kept up with SA's progress at the recent Olympics - SA's recent sporting performance in a variety of disciplines has not been too encouraging of late!

Best regards and tight lines!
