I have often wondered but never knew for sure if bass laid their eggs in dirty water as so much of our lakes are mud at this time this year

Yes bass spawn in muddy water. They just move up a little shallower. I have seen beds in about a foot of water, when it was muddy. That isn't the norm, tho.
