Fishing was tough - I caught one small spotted bass that was a keeper and two shakers. I think Dave did about the same. Beautiful day to be out though - I was fishing shirtless in January!

Well I don't know quite what to think about Naci. I talked to a friend of mine, Pete Skarda who runs the Wilderness Outfitter Tackle Shop in Arroyo Grande. He said he fished the hangover tournament at Naci on New Years day and the fishing was pretty good but it still only took 8.3lbs for 5 fish to win.

Just keeping you guys informed. I think John, you are going down there pretty soon right?

Hairless, shirtless, brainless, fishless, whatever!

The lake was really, really low. Both Dave and I thought we were going to have a good day being on the leading edge of a front instead of trailing. Primarily we tried tube baits and grubs but also threw crankbaits, spinnerbaits, and worms.

On the way out the guy at the gate said that others also reported a tough day of fishing. He said that one person reported catching a 9.6 # largemouth which if brought back to the store would have been a new lake record. The guy released it without obtaining proof though.
