It's been a long wait from the open to this next tourney this coming Saturday the 18th at Discovery Bay. So we will be launching in the bay to the left of the main launch (Mitch can you help me with a photo). This is a new stop for us this year.

Some things to keep in mind, we are launching out of a residential area so we will need to keep the noise down in the morning. Also we will need to watch for cars, people who live there. Maybe not so much in the morning but definitely at weigh-in. Treat the road like a launch ramp and keep the middle clear for cars to get through. There is no need to double park. Please pull farther down the road then pull off. There is plenty of space.

After you remove all fishing gear from your truck you will need to pull out into the main street to park. I highly advise this as we will be launching from a resident parking only area. There will seem to be plenty of parking but like I said its residents only. So u park at ur own risk if parking inside the condos.

Please follow these simple rules so this is not our first and last time we visit this spot. MOST IMPORTANT TO PLEASE KEEP THE NOISE DOWN IN THE MORNING.

Check-in 4:15-4:45
Blast off no later than 5:15 the earlier the better.
Weigh-in 6 hours from launch.

This is a 6 hour rule tourney.

Post here if u plan to attend this event.

To remind everyone, we have been given permission to use the discovery bay yacht harbor parking lot to park our vehicles after dropping off the kickboats in the morning. We can then use the ramp in the afternoon to get out and their parking lot for weigh in. Just an option to think about. There is no launch ramp use fee or parking fee. I've had several conversations with the harbormaster as well as the homeowners association to the condos. Residents rarely use that strip of parking, most are vacation homes, but like Taylor said just be quiet and respectful and we should be able to launch there early in the morning on a regular basis without any issues.

I'll be in Indiana, float tubing the St. Joseph River for smallmouth, walley, and musky. Too bad I'll miss this tourney, but should be able to make the next Delta tourneys.

Thanks,

Mike F

Beuhler... Buehler...?

For real, only 10 guys for a new spot like Disco? Where is everybody for this one?
Nate? Mario? Troy? Neil? Clint? Dave? Sal? Paul? Noah? Wayne?

I sure hope my last report didn't scare anyone off :+
The weather is going to be awesome, It's the easiest launch anywhere in the delta, an awesome tide, and some great scenery when it gets hot ;-)

I talked to Noah yesterday and he is planning on being there. You can add him to the list.

A 4:15 Saturday morning check in at the delta is not doable for an old guy like me. It takes me the better part of two hours to drive there plus just getting up, loading the remainder of my gear, etc means I have to wake up at 1:15 or 1:30. I thought about renting a room in Brentwood but $$$ aside I'd either have to drive through Friday afternoon rush hour traffic or wait and not get to the hotel until 9 or so.

I'm not 100% sure I won't rent the room but it about doubles the cost of fishing this. There's no freaking way I am getting up at 1:30 in the morning to fish anything.

For people who are closer (or younger) sat tournaments are probably better, not so here.

Buzzfish

Also, Sunday is fathers day and I have to drive to Walnut Creek, do a BBQ, then turn around and drive back. A lot of driving for one weekend.

Noted Clint. I can understand everything you are saying.
These are the things that need to be discussed in more detail at our meetings to try and avoid this type of thing in the future. And other stuff too.
Unfortunately we will never be able to accommodate every body all the time I suppose. It's just hard to do with the club members being so spread out around central Cal. What can ya do :+

Hopefully we will see you at the next one!
