Check the link (from the 'Links' page, but copied below) for the latest Santa Clara Valley reservoir water levels:

http://alert.valleywater.org/gageresv-cross.html

It says Coyote's only @ 20% capacity??? That would seem to mean that there're alot of **BigTime Bass** being concentrated in a limited amount of space, don't you think??? Might be time for a look-see down there, for some Big Bass action (if you don't mind hauling your kickboat down a couple hundred yards to the water!!!).

I'm kind of surprised. I don't recall Coyote's water levels being drawn down so low in the past (at least since I've been paying more attention).

Obviously, with these rains, it's gotta be coming up, but it's still got a long ways to go! (I hope they're getting all that road & ramp work done in the meantime!).

Hmmm...hopefully, I'll find some time over the holiday break to go check it out!

It really is that low
Capacity is 22,925 acre feet
Right now it's at 4,724 acre feet
Fishing has been off at Coyote all year. There's been some double digits, no question, but compared to the two years before that, it has been way off. I believe that there are not as many giants in Coyote as people might think. The fish in that lake migrate a lot because of the huge fluctuations in water level during the year, and I think it makes them vulnerable to being caught. People will continue to get big bass from Coyote, but I think it will be a while before it cycles back to being 'good' for big bass.

I'd still like to get out there to see some of the exposed structure in various parts of the lake. I'm sure there are some 'hidden' rockpiles, drop-offs, submerged islands, etc. that are showing themselves for all the world to see while the water is this low.

Have you been out there to take a gander, Rob? I know Wade has been out there recently at night, what with his recent PB & all (with Nico? Joey?).

Anyway, it should be a trip worth the travel down there. I have to find out if they'll let me camp in my RV there.

If your going, call me at 408 778 7410. As for the RV I don't know the size limits, but I do know it's open for camping and you can drive all the way in on the weekends.
Tight lines,
Wade

Was just there last week walking the shores.

I think it was on Tuesday evening.
The gate was open and we walked from the luanch ramp to just shy of the the dam.
Both my friend and I scored zero.
But it sure beats sitting home wishing rather than fishing :)
