Just wanted to let everyone know that I am stepping down as Travelers Region TD so I can spend more time on other aspects of the club and to free up a little bit of time. I will still do all of my presidential duties and help run the opens.

So with that said the job for TD is open to anyone who is interested just let me know and I will also be around to help you thru the transition phase.

Paul more people have viewed this thred than we have members. So, have you ever considered having one director for each tournament,instead of one TD for the whole year.Or something along these lines.

I don't think that would work out too well.We just need someone to step up!come on guys,it really isn't that hard of a job but Paul just can't do that and the pres thing,it's just too much for one guy(unless your lake:o :+ )

Swampy is correct. We need one person to do it. It isn't even a job it's so easy, just a minor task. Every one who has fished these tourneys has seen the TD's in action.

All you do is bring the scale to the tourney collect the entry fee and option money, call blast off and fish until weigh in, weigh peoples fish, give a hard time to everybody who has a bigger bag than you, hand out the money at the end then get the results(and pics if ya got em) to me so I can update the site and the YTD results.
Easy as pie!

I even have the sign up sheets all done up with Excel so all the TD needs to do is fill in the blanks then send the results to me. This can be done with a pencil and snail mail even. The payouts are already calculated for the TD's as well based on the number of participants, so if you can add and subtract then you are qualified.

A computer at home with e-mail is nice but not necessary. Some experience with Excel is helpful but not necessary. A digital camera is not a must but it is nice to get pics for the website if you have one.

The bottom line is this. With three regions it is too much for Paul and myself to do club officer duties, drum up donations for the raffles (everybody is more than welcome to help us out with this one ;) ), secure permits, submit tourney reports to DFG, run three opens, order all the right plaques and trophys for all the regions and opens, keep the website updated AND be the TD every month as well.

Believe me the TD portion of what we do is small potatoes compared to everything else.

Seriously, there must be someone out there who is willing to take on such a minor task as TR TD to keep the club going as it is.
My daughter would do it if she could drive :P

C'mon guys,me & buzzy will be running the delta region or I'ld do it.It would be great for some of the youngun's who enjoy taking my money once a month }( (ok,maybe twice a month) :o :+ to step up and do this.We need to keep this going and fresh blood in the td jobs is good.Like Mitch said,he and Paul can't do everything and they need our help so if ya like to fish the tourneys please help out Paul and mitch.

If we can't get any of the old roosters to do it how about one of you young bucks?

If ya got a favorite lake there's no better way to get it on the schedule than to make the schedule yourself ;)

Paul has a couple of ideas to make it even easier for ya too. Like for instance, the last tourney of the season is already scheduled for all three regions.

No one said the job was hard, it just dosn't seem to me that anyone in our region wants to commit to all six events. I only fished three last year and surprisingly finished 12th for the year.

You actually would not have to make every tournament if you have a backup. My job is such that I will almost certainly miss at least on delta event next year but my bro graciously agreed to be my backup.

I mentioned this last year but was too late to give anyone a chance to look into this lake as a possible location for the TR. Instead of Naci, this place might be worth looking into for a tourney.

Hey Jeff, are you signing up for the TD position? I think you would be a great TD.

Gordons livewell actually meets the minimum 10 gallon container requirement so he's all good. The intention of the livewell rule isn't to weed out membership ya know ;)
