First post here, have a couple of Q's. I am a kayak fishing type and am wondering if any of the same have found a solution to the livewell standards. I did a forum search and didn't find much pertaining to my platform. If you fish the tournaments in a yak or know of some contraption that would work I would appreciate it. I don't think I could accomodate a large cooler on the deck....

Hi,
I've been fishing BnT tourneys for the last few years out of my 'yak (a Hobie Mirage Outback). I use a 'low-profile' Rubbermaid tote to keep my center of gravity low. It wedges in nicely between my 2 'gunnels' on either side of the boat. I cut a few holes in it for the aerator line, drainage, and a hinged lid so I can deposit my catch. Here's a couple of pix (the second one shows a dry tote in the same position I usually put my livewell in).

Thanks for the input Gordon. Looks like my tankwell is the only area to make this happen. I usually rig all my rods and tackle back there, probably explains the rod holders you put up on your left side in that first pic. I'll have to come up with some changes. Notice a big difference with your stability having all the extra weight back there?

No, stability hasn't been an issue (until you lean too far over and all the water in the well sloshes to one side!) The extra weight certainly slows you down, though!
