I know some of you guys got out there. How was the bite? Have the fish started there migration from weeds to rocks? We dont need exact locations just some basic info would be cool

I haven't prefished Clear Lake yet this fall. I did hear that the water level is down around 8' or so f/ when we fished it in May. I'm sure the weeds are thick. Somebody is having a big boat tournie on Saturday (WON Bass Pro-Am?) - no surprise there.

O.K,I kinda suck at doing reports but I`ll give it a go.Went out with a friend of mine on his boat, got on the water about 7:00 or so.The plan going out there was to hit multiple spots to locate fish and eliminate water so our catch totals weren`t great but if We would have pounded some spots we could have had a great day.Anyway We hit one of my favorite rockpiles first thing and I got two pretty much right off the bat on crankbaits. So we took off to one of his spots wich had alot of weeds and baitfish in the area,we pounded that pretty good with no success. So we then went to my bread and butter spot which has weed, rock and a creek channel going through it.We got a few there and we found some other structure in the area there I didn`t know about and got a couple more.So we cruised to see if we could get any around some deeper docks around glenn haven and only picked up one after fishing this area pretty damn hard. From there we went to Kona Tayee(sp.) nothing.Jammed over to county and spotted alot of little bass but no baitfish fished it for awhile with no success. It was getting kinda late so I suggested we pound Andys stretch and see what happens, bam we started hooking up again( nice spot Andy)lol. All in all it was a fairly succesful trip eliminated alot of water I might have tryed during this weekend. For those who won`t get a chance to pre-fish or don`t know the lake I would suggest if you find some rock they`re will be a fish there,if you find some rock with weeds around even better. Also if you catch a fish in a spot chances are there will be more catchable fish in the area,it didn`t seem to be one fish per area catch ratio, it was more like they were there or they weren`t.Reaction baits were the ticket this weekend everybody seems to be throwing the same thing but the people that are catching fish are doing something a little different in there retrieve or there presentation to get them to hit.Alot of small fish biting out there, should be an interesting tourney.I hope this helps,Bill one mor thing we only got one fish in water deeper than 6ft.

Dang! You pounded my fish! Those dudes probably hadn't seen a lure since I last fished there in May. You should have stayed home & watched the Raiders.

I don't think Todd did prefish. The man just exudes confidence these days.
Anyhow, I checked out the BFL results from Clear Lake last weekend. Sounds like a tough bite. Jimmy Reese finished 3rd with only 23# for 2 days. You can see them at http://www.flwoutdoors.com/bfl/tournament.cfm?tournamentidno=5&divisionidno=17&tournamentyear=2002
