CAREFUL that fuse protects the wiring and other devices that relate. dont open another can of worms, you have a short between the fuse and the trolling motor(in actual trolling motor). un-plug the motor and with a volt meter check voltage from the fuse(in your case tied through wire) to unplugged motor(female plug)if you have the right volts 24v/36v. problem = motor
No volts problem is in wiring from fuse to female plug, you can easily pull new wires if you had too, tape new wires to the old ones and pull back. mice and other critters love wire.
